Roundtable returns with spring event highlighting students
The Virginia Tech College of Science hosted its Spring 2022 Dean’s Roundtable Advisory Board meeting this past weekend. At the two-day event, the college celebrated undergraduate and graduate research students, including the awarding scholarships. It was the first spring Roundtable event since 2019, with the 2020 and 2021 events being canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Joining Interim Dean Ron Fricker and the Roundtable for the weekend was incoming dean of the college, Kevin Pitts. In honor of Fricker’s service to the college, the Roundtable funded a one-time Beyond Boundaries Scholarship in his name that will support a student in the College of Science for the 2022-23 academic year.
On Friday, April 22, we hosted the Roundtable Scholarship Reception & Dinner. Students are nominated for the scholarships by faculty, with members of the Dean’s Roundtable Advisory Board serving as judges. All students, though, win scholarship funding.
