First-Generation Students
Collaborates with departments across campus to provide programming and events throughout the academic year. The events raise awareness about the needs and experiences of first-generation college students. Connect first-generation students with one another and with faculty and staff to build community. Create an environment for first-generation students that welcomes diverse ideas and cultures, promotes lifelong learning, instills values, and cultivates a strong academic identity.

Multicultural Academic Opportunities Program (MAOP)
Through partnerships with various academic colleges and departments at Virginia Tech, other colleges and universities, governmental entities, and various organizations, MAOP provides support for diverse students who demonstrate a clear commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence.
Assist both undergraduate and graduate students in their transition to Virginia Tech and provides academic guidance, emotional, social, and financial support until they graduate. For undergraduates interested in graduate education in the future, MAOP provides opportunities for students to engage in summer research.

Office of Veteran Services
Works with Virginia Tech’s Bursar’s Office, Registrar’s Office, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Services to receive and process all documentation related to veteran and military student educational benefits. The office also collaborates with university and community partners to ensure that veterans and military dependents are connected to the financial, academic, and social resources necessary for a successful transition to and through their course of study at Virginia Tech.

Women's Center
Promotes a Virginia Tech community that is safe, equitable, and supportive for women and that celebrates the experiences, achievements, and diversity. The center serves as a resource for the university and surrounding community on gender-related and women’s issues; sponsors educational programs and events that raise awareness of women’s issues and serves as an on-campus focal point for services for victims, their friends, and families.
