College of Science Embedded Counselor

How to make an appointment with Dr. Sharpton:
- PHONE: Call 540-231-6557 (M-F, 8-5) to make an appointment. Ask to be placed on Dr. Sharpton's schedule for a Cook Connect (the first appointment students attend) or schedule a Cook Connect with a general triage clinician and ask to be placed with Dr. Sharpton for counseling if you prefer.

Cook Counseling Center

Market at Virginia Tech
Initiative of Student Affairs that is designed to provide food assistance to students who, for whatever reason, have a hard time obtaining regular, healthy meals. Such a situation could be the result of a short-term disruption in finances, residing in a food desert, or a lack of access to other financial assistance. Students who are enrolled at VT and live off-campus are eligible for the program and can apply through the Dean of Student's Office.

Recreational Sports
Provides opportunities for student, faculty, and staff to engage in physical activities to create healthy lifestyle habits. Two on-campus gyms -- War Memorial and McComas Hall -- give you access to weight rooms and a pool, as well as racquetball, squash, and wallyball courts. Safe Ride
The Virginia Tech Police Department sponsors a nighttime safety escort service called “Safe Ride.” This service is available to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the university. Safe Ride operates from dusk until dawn and provides transportation or a walking escort, upon request, to persons who must cross campus during the nighttime alone. View the official Safe Ride Hours.
In order to request the service between dusk and dawn, customers should utilize the TransLoc Rider app, which is available free through the App Store and Google Play. Safe Ride may be contacted by using the TransLoc Rider app or calling 540-231-SAFE (7233).
After downloading TransLoc app from the App Store or the Google Play Store, users can request a ride by logging into the app and selecting a pickup and drop-off location.

Women's Center
